| Why bother? You could just stay at home and watch Neighbours! |
| Work Experience represents an opportunity for pupils, in their final year at school, to: |
- explore the world of work.
- See how very different the workplace is compared to school
- See what students are good at in a practical/pressured environment
- Apply the skills the students have learnt at school, so recognising their relevance
- See the everyday reality about a chosen career - Forensic Science is not usually carried out in the plush buildings of 'CSI Miami'
- Show universities about their commitment to particular career choices.
- Experience positive feedback from a non-school professional who can provide an unbiased view of their potential in a working environment.
- Develop self confidence and maturity so that when they return to the Sixth Form they are better equipped and motivated to tackle subjects in depth.
